1.Bosherston Lily Ponds, Broadhaven, and St. Govan's Head

Bosherston Lily Ponds:
The Lily Ponds at Bosherston are a series of man made lakes, created in the late 1800's and are a great source of wildlife and natural beauty. When the lilies are in bloom this enhances the appeal of this lovely country walk. It is exactly a mile of fairly level pathway at the side of the ponds to the end, where you can walk out onto Broadhaven Beach.
 
Broadhaven Beach:
One of the prettiest and unspoilt beaches in the area, you can walk back down over the other side of the ponds, crossing the bridges.






St. Govan's Head:
Is a short distance further along the coast from Bosherston. It is named after St.Govan who lived here in the 7th Century and you can visit the St. Govan's Chapel. located in a crevice in the rocks. From St. Govan's Head there are excellent walks along the cliff tops, enjoying the scenery,  from the well maintained pathway.

Directions - As you leave St.Florence on the B4318, take the A477 towards Pembroke Dock. Branch off the A4075 towards Pembroke. As you ener Pembroke go straight across the mini roundabout, down the hill past ATS, following the road to your right. Take you next left onto the B4319 signposted to Bosherston. Follow the local "black and white" signs all the way to Bosherston. When you have visited the Lily Ponds, continue on the B4319 which will take you to St. Govan's Head.

2. Pembroke Castle:
The birth place of Henry Tudor, Pembroke Castle is well preserved, with access to the battlements and tower. It also has a small museum of local military artefacts. A number of pageants are staged here in the Summer.

Directions - Follow the directions shown about and as you go down the hill past ATS do not turn off left for Bosherston. Follow the main road around the back of Pembroke, to the large parking areas on your left. The Castle is around the corner to your right, at the top of the hill.


3. Scolton Hall:
This is the County Museum of Pembrokeshire, based on life through the ages in Pembrokeshire. The main feature is the Manor House itself which is fitted out as if the family has just left each room in the early 1900's. You can go into the dining room, cellars and the bedrooms. Also attached to the Hall is the County Museum, with interesting exhibits on local history, plus a science section with some interactive exhibits. As it says in their brochure "worth having a rainy day for".

Directions - As you leave St. Florence on the B4318, turn left on the 1st roundabout, taking the A477 towards Pembroke Dock. At the next roundabout, turn right taking the A4075 past Carew Castle. Stay on the A4075 past Oakwood Amusement Park, for about 7 miles. At the T junction with the A40 turn left on the A40 towards Haverfordwest. As you enter Haverfordwest follow signs for the "H" for Hospital. At the third roundabout where you can turn left for the Hospital you will see a sign for Scolton, turning right at this roundabout, onto the B4329. Scolton is on B4329 on the left hand side.

4. Caldey Island:
This is a beautiful Island just off the coast at Tenby. It is a private Island, with a Monastery run by an order of Cistercian Monks. They do allow visitors and there are organised boat trips from Tenby Harbour, about every 20 minutes in the Summer. You can visit the Monastery and their shop where they offer a range of souvenirs, or just explore the Island. Caldey is open every day except Sunday.

Directions - As you leave St.Florence on the B4318 follow the signs for Tenby. As you enter Tenby follow the signs for the Harbour. You can use a local bus service from St.Florence to the centre of Tenby or park your car in the multi storey car park in the centre and walk to the Harbour in about ten minutes.

5. St. David's Cathedral:
St.David's is the spiritual capital of Wales, with a marvellous Cathedral, which is adjoined by the ruins of the Bishops Palace. St. David's operate a park and ride service and you will pick up the signs for this as you enter St.David's. The Cathedral is open every day but there are services on a Sunday which will restrict your opportunity to fully explore the Cathedral.

Directions - As you leave St. Florence on the B4318, turn left at the first roundabout, taking the A477 towards Pembroke Dock. At the next roundabout, turn right, taking the A4075 past Carew Castle, Stay on the A4075, past Oakwood Amusement Park, for about 7 miles. At the T junction with the A40 turn left onto the A40 towards Haverfordwest. As you enter Haverfordwest, follow signs for the town centre. At the second roundabout (PMS Car Sales on your right). At the next roundabout (Morrison's supermarket), turn left onto the A487 towards St.Davids. Follow the A487 all the way to St.Davids. As you near St.Davids you will pass through the pretty village of Solva. If you can park in the riverside car park, we recommend a walk around Solva.

6. Laugharne:
This is the birth place of Dylan Thomas, the playwrite and author, who wrote, "Under Milk Wood" here. The boathouse where he lived is open to visitors and you can also visit Laugharne Castle and enjoy a walk along the estuary.

Directions - As you leave St.Florence on the B4318, turn right at the first roundabout on to the A477 towards St.Clear's. Stay on the A477 until you reach the village of Red Roses, just before St. Clear's. We recommend that you turn right onto the B4314 signposted to Pendine. This village has a lovely long golden beach where the land speed record attempts have been held. You can then follow the coast road into Laugharne.

7. Oakwood Amusement Park:
With one of the biggest wooden rollercoaster's in Europe, Oakwood has rides for children of all ages, although it mainly caters for children over 10 years old.

Directions - As you leave St. Florence on the B4318, turn left at the first roundabout, taking the A477 towards Pembroke Dock. At the next roundabout turn right, taking the A4075 past Carew Castle. Stay on the A4075 for approximately 7 miles.

8. Heatherton Sports Park:
Enjoy a game of golf, or try your skills at achery, pistol and electronic clay pigeon shooting. There are also go Karts and a range of other sports and activities to try your hand at. The latest addition to Heatherton is Tree Tops - a thrilling climbing experience for all ages.



9. Folly Farm:
This is a working farm where you can try your hand at feeding the animals or take a tractor ride to see and feed the shire horses. There is also an old world fair where all rides are paid for in pre decimal currency.


Directions - As you leave St. Florence on the B4314 turn right at the 1st roundabout onto the A477 towards St. Clears/ At the next roundabout turn left onto the A478 towards Kilgetty. At the next roundabout, follow the signs towards Narberth onto the A478. Folly Farm is now sign posted and is on the A478 on your left hand side.
